Big Brother 5 : Nominations history

Welcome to the Nominations section, it is usually quite interesting to see how the housemates have voted against each other across the 70 day series. There are often some distinctive patterns in how they vote, with some housemates tending to always see those they vote for evicted.

Notes...

Day 2 : The 'Suitcase vote' : despite not being a real eviction vote, this nomination round was still useful to note.

Day 17 : Emma and Michelle were exempt from being nominated - whilst in the bedsit,. but could still vote

Day 24: Nominations scrubbed, due to eviction being moved back one week.

Day 31: Becki had a 'golden' nomination, with Michelle being put straight to the public vote.

Day 38: Jason and Victor not permitted to nominate by BB, due to their incessant nominations talk.

Day 45: Jason and Michelle -as Sergents, having passed the task, exempt from noms, the rest all up.

Day 59: Nominations scrubbed for rest of series. BB decides that all HM's up for the public vote.

Day: 70: Nadia wins, with Jason 2'nd, Dan 3'rd, Shell 4'th.....with Stuart - 5'th, having got the boot in midweek.

Series 5

* As ever, the quiet ones will 'get away with it' for a few weeks, but in the later haft of the show the other housemates will begin to realise that the quiet ones have shared nothing at all. The 'Blending into the wallpaper' strategy does ensure some high degree of initial survival, but it really damages the long term potential to win. This process happens quite abruptly, as was seen in the case of Gos' in BB4. The public also tend to react the same way, and at the very end, a 'quiet one' will NEVER win.

For any BB5 housemate to win, a tactic of 'batten down' initially for the initial 3-5 days seems wise, but then it would seem imperitive to get 'noticed' not only by your fellow housemates, but by the media and viewing public. A carefully crafted argument aimed at some of the more dominent housemates would probably garner some degree of respect from the public. Although such a tactic would probably result in the housemate being nominated. However, I would suggest that it would be useful to be up for nomination in weeks 2-4, if only to see whether the public decide to keep you in !

-------

Update 7/8/2004
Nadia wins with a massive landslide vote.....60.7% of the total week'10 votes - truly astounding. Having been up for the boot 4 times, she was a surprising - but deserved winner. No other BB winner has survived so many public eviction votes (I believe) and won.

Unlike WallPaper Housemates -Shell and Stuart (Dan was somewhere in between dull/entertaining), Nadia captured the public attention - and although she annoyed many.. once she made it to the final night, she was a guarenteed winner against Jason.

BB5 was a superb series, one that will be hard to top in 2005

yours.
